I've said it before and here I am to say it again: "Every time we step up to police the world, we (the collective herein implied being America the Beautiful) step on our own dick."

That being said, why am I the only person who seems to notice our direct responsibility for what is going on *waves arm off in a vague direction* over yonder?

We did it first (right or wrong---and I'm claiming neither in this little missive); we set the precedent. Hell, the last time I checked the clock we were STILL doing it.

So, so, SO....what gives US the right to tell them *waves arm off in a vague direction* over yonder that they are going about this all wrongly? They're apparently doing it on a much smaller scale than we are, (the whole WORLD is our playground, baybeeee) in a much tighter circle, and in response to a daily wash of terrorism.....

Which, as I recall has been going on a long, long time on their own soil.

I desperately love my country, and maybe I should note that I agree with certain forms of retaliation, but sometimes I am terribly, terribly ashamed of us.

I never want to be accused of hypocrisy and have that judgement ring true, whether it be a finger-pointing en masse or solely at me. *bigBIGsigh*
